Green Bean Casserole Recipes

Green Bean and Chicken Casserole

  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips
  • 2 cups thawed, frozen cut green beans

In a bowl, mix the soup and milk together. In a separate bowl, mix the stuffing crumbs and melted butter and toss gently.

Spray a glass pan with cooking spray and layer the chicken strips on the bottom. Next add the green beans, pour the soup mixture over, and top with the stuffing mix. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

Alfredo Green Bean Casserole

  • 2 (1 pound) packages of frozen cut green beans
  • 1 (8 oz.) can sliced drained, water chestnuts
  • 1/2 cup roasted red bell peppers, cut into small strips
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (10 oz.) container refrigerated Alfredo pasta sauce
  • 1 can French fried onions

This one is cooked in a crock pot, so begin by spraying it with cooking spray to prevent sticking. In a bowl, mix the green beans, water chestnuts, bell peppers, salt and Alfredo sauce and stir well. Mix half the can of French fried onions, and spoon gently into the crock pot. Cook on low 3-4 hours, stirring, half way through.

Before serving, cook the rest of the French fried onions over medium heat in a skillet for a couple quick minutes. Sprinkle these on top of the green bean casserole and serve.

  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1(2.8-oz.) can French fried onion rings

  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/8 tsp. black pepper
  • 2 (9 oz. each) pkgs. frozen cut green beans, thawed

Fancy Green Bean Casserole

  • 2 pounds fresh Green Beans with the ends cut or snapped off
  • 4 slices cooked bacon, cut into small pieces
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 1/2 onion chopped
  • 4 Tablespoon butter
  • 4 Tablespoons flour
  • 2-1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup half and half
  • 1-1/2 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • Freshly black pepper to taste
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper or to taste
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 jar (4 Ounce) sliced pimentos, drained
  • 1 cup bread crumbs or French fried onions

Boil cut green beans in boiling salted water for 3-4 minutes. Drain and drop them into ice water, drain and set aside.

Cook bacon pieces and add onion and garlic and cook until bacon is cooked, but not crisp, and onions are soft. Remove from heat.

In a skillet, melt butter on medium heat and add flour, whisk to blend. Slowly add milk and half and half and blend well. Continue cooking until this white sauce gets thick, about 2 minutes. Add salt, pepper, cayenne and grated cheese, continue stirring until cheese melts.

Next add pimentos, and combine the bacon/onion/garlic mixture. Pour over the green beans, stirring gently. Put into a baking dish, sprayed with cooking spray and top with bread crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
